Angkor Adventure Tour Extension 4 Days

Tour Highlights:

  • Visit the largest, best preserved, and most religiously significant of the Angkor temples
  • Enjoy lunch with locals at Kompong Kleang floating village
  • Explore free time at leisure in Siem Reap city

Having survived centuries buried by jungle, and the years of terror under the Khmer Rouge, the temples of Angkor are now one of the world's great tourist attractions. The Khmer empire was based around a vast network of temples and reservoirs around today's Siem Reap town. 'Angkor' is the name now given to the city, and Angkor Wat (pictured above) is its most famous attraction. It is composed of as much stone as the pyramid of Cheops in Egypt, and yet it's decorated throughout with intricate carvings of Hindu cosmology and Khmer history. Yuan-dynasty diplomat Zhou Daguan, who resided in Angkor from 1296-97, wrote that the wealth of the city rivalled that of imperial China.
