Our family of 3 (known on tour as Family 1) recently completed the Nexus 8 day Classic Tour of China.
We had a fabulous trip made all the better by our tour guides, King and George. King was our local guide for Beijing, and he gave us a good overview of the history of Beijing and the changes to now. George was with us in Beijing and Shanghai and he was fantastic, with stories and jokes and he was quite a good singer too (great rendition of Unchained Melody). He was flexible with the tour, arranging an unforgettable trip on the MagLev Train (speed got to 431kph).
Our hotels, Palace Resort and Crowne Plaza, were excellent, with large buffet breakfasts every morning and the restaurants we had lunch and dinner in were all very good.
We were in a large group of over 40 people but everyone got on very well and by the end of the tour it was like a large family group. My 15 y/o was a bit hesitant before the trip but he really enjoyed it and wants to do another Nexus holiday.
We went to all the optional shows and really enjoyed them too.
I can’t speak highly enough of Nexus and the professional way that they organised this tour, from my first enquiry to dropping us at the airport at the conclusion of our trip. They are to be highly commended, and a very special thanks to George and King for the way they looked after us.
Greetings…we just returned from the 8 day China Classic tour (19th Oct to 26th Oct 2017) to Beijing and Shanghai.
We travelled as a family of four (two teenagers) and had a very enjoyable and memorable trip. The hotels in both Beijing (Palace Resort) and Shanghai(Crowne Plaza) were quality hotels and the rooms were spacious. Buffet breakfast was sumptuous and the meals provided on the tour were good too.
Our guide in Beijing (King – local tour guide) and George (national tour guide in Beijing & Shanghai) were very knowledgeable, kind, funny and always willing to help..they provided us with in-depth information on the local history in both the cities. George entertained us with his Chinese and English songs and jokes on the bus. The weather was good, sunny and no rain.
We had a fantastic group of 42 people on our tour and bonded and got to know each other well. Made a few great friends too.
Only regret that the tour didn’t include taking us into the Summer Palace in Beijing, we just visited the grounds…it was an additional expense to gain entry and too short a time too for this. Also shopping in Shanghai should have been longer than the allocated 2 hours which was just not enough as we also had to have our own lunch during this time.
Would recommend this tour to anyone and it is value for money and a great way of seeing China.
Debra D’Cunha, Sydney
Hi Debra from Family 1, we agree with your comments, it was an excellent holiday. Lovely to meet you.
Thank you to all Nexus staff, we appreciate everything from the booking process, communication, tour guides and crew. My husband our 3 teenage children and our 2 closest friends just did the 11 day China tour with Xi’an and Shanghai , it was amazing and highly recommended Nexus to any one, and of all ages to par take in this exciting and action packed holiday.
We had unbelievable China experience (from 15th – 25 September 2017) even with the weather being warm – hot. The “Classic China” tour was extremely well organised and structured perfectly with good hotels, tasty dishes The cultural aspect of the tour was excellent. The trip was above our expectations.
We cannot say enough good things about our experienced bus and tour guides: such as Johanna and George in Beijing we were family 11. Xi’an was Laura and Steve in Shanghai. Our guides were excellent: All of them were very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and both spoke English very well. They really went out of their way to help in any way they can, they made us feel special. The tour guides made our tour exceptional.
Had an 1.5 hr stopover in Hong Kong was a great way to wind down from our 9 hr flight from Brisbane great service on Cathay Pacific
On board our bus was 43 amazing people enjoying the same tour as us.
Talking our tour group was always organised and ready to go. Met so many lovely people on the tour. Someone on the tour asked what was my favourite highlight, she thought the Great wall of china,
I still can’t believe what value we got for so little money . In Shanghai was great travelled on the fastest train in the world 431kl. 7 min journeys that normally would take 30 mins. My husband and I are recommending this tour to everyone we meet.
The sights were amazing from the Great Wall, Tienanmen Square, terracotta warriors, but also the live shows we were treated to. The scenery was just beautiful. All the hotels were great as well. Such as Ramada Beijing North, Titan Times Hotel, Crowne Plaza Shanghai, Pujiang with the Crowne they could not find our Reservation but Steve our Guide had everything sorted within minutes
We loved the cultural things too and learning about how the Chinese people lived hundreds of years ago and also today. Such a beautiful place to visit.
It was a very physical tour but for most in the group it wasn’t an issue. We covered so much and learnt so much about ancient and present China. All meals were included. You must like Chinese food as there were no other options but when in China what else do you expect. Breakfast was western so you mostly had a good choice. Some buffet lunches were spicy but you never went hungry as there were was always something that was OK. Some buffet food was only lukewarm and not very appetizing. There were some very tasty meals (Peking Duck). There was plenty of veggie dishes especially wombok and bok choy and cauliflower. Most meals ended with a dish of watermelon and cantaloupe. Beer, coke, tea and lemonade included. Take a supply of chocolate or any other goodies you enjoy as you won’t be able to buy them in China. Don’t expect milk with your tea. Certainly 4 -5 star hotels. Only two drawbacks were, in some hotels, the temperature in the rooms was too warm. Certainly take layers to wear, and the second drawback was the people clearing their throat and spitting in front of you
China trip exceeded all expectations.
the Jade factory, Silk factory, Herbal Institute, and sufficient time at The Great Wall and Forbidden City.
The days are busy and the days are long – another person made the valid point that it is a tour not a holiday, and in our group there were some people who missed this point. We had really good time to walk the Great Wall on our own, and we all loved it, there were a few hundred people – it is a busy ‘commercial’ section -this was one of the highlights for us –The herbal medicine place is not my thing – but personal preference.
We went to the optional shows and they were really good!
This tour represents really good value for money, and I believe if approached with the right frame of mind would be enjoyable for all ages. The days start with breakfasts at 7.00 and on the road by 8.00 and generally not back to the hotel until maybe 9.00pm, so they are long days, but a lot gets done/seen/experienced in between. We live in a great Country – Australia we do take things for granted and we are so Lucky, as there is tremendous hardship in some parts of China
Thanks Nexus Michelle
Thank you for your review – we are doing a 10 day China Tour in March and you have pointed out a couple of things to us that we weren’t aware of – we realized the days would be long as there is a lot to fit in (just not how long) and the note about taking your own munchies (and panadol by the sounds of it) – hadn’t even considered that but will have to take a store of goodies each to tie us over for 2 weeks as we are staying on for an extra 4 days after out tour to feed my husbands Disney addiction lol
We are also traveling to China in March fir 10 days. Perhaps we are on the same tour. We leave on 13th. Sounds great doesn’t it. Fay
We just returned from the 8 day Classic China Tour and cannot speak highly enough of our main tour guide George Xie. He went to no end of trouble to accommodate us and with a wonderful sense of humour, we didn’t expect to find. George provided for everyone every need, nothing too much trouble. This is a highly recommended tour.
Thank you to all Nexus staff, we appreciate everything from the booking process, communication, tour guides and crew. My husband and our 12 year old daughter just did the 11 day China tour, it was amazing and highly recommended Nexus to any one, and of all ages to par take in this exciting and action packed holiday.
We will be using Nexus again, hopefully to explore India.
Well done and thank you so much.
Mary and I just returned from the Japan Golden Route tour which concluded on the 13th of July. Japan. This was our first trip to Japan and indeed our first booking with Nexus Holidays. To be honest we approached the trip with a degree of trepidation as the cost of the trip was at the budget end of the scale. What we didn’t realise was that we would come across the best tour guide we have ever had in Kiyoko. Nothing was too much trouble and as well as being a very informative guide she had a lovely quirky sense of humour which endeared her to all the members of our group. She also went well beyond the requirements of a normal guide. Examples of this are the guided tour she conducted in Kyoto which was outside her working hours, the hand made gift she prepared for everyone and the hand written note at the end of the tour supplied with a map where she had gone through and highlighted each of the places we had visited. We cannot speak highly enough of Kiyoko and indeed Nexus for providing us with such exceptional value for money. Our first tour with Nexus will not be the last. Great work Nexus!
We had unbelievable China experience (from 30 of June 2017 to 7 of July 2017) even with the weather being very hot. The “Classic China” tour was extremely well organised and structured perfectly with good hotels, yummy food and experienced guides. The cultural aspect of the tour was excellent. The trip was above our expectations.
We cannot say enough good things about our tour guides: Joanna and Jackie Cheung. Our guides were excellent: both of them were very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and both spoke English very well. They really went out of their way to help in any way they can, they made us feel special. The tour guides made our tour exceptional.
We had an amazing time! Highly recommended tour. Our Nexus experience was phenomenal. Well done, than you!
I want to Congratulate Nexus Holidays for the Amazing China Discovery Tour. On board our bus was 43 amazing people enjoying the same tour as us.
Thanks to HELEN, Judy, Yang, Jessica and the bus drivers they made our adventure of china a reality. I think I could talk on behalf of all the other people
On our tour Helen was very well organised. She always said there are three bus. A1 A2 A3. Lets make everyday A1 bus to leave. Through this positive
Talking our tour group was always organised and ready to go. Met so many lovely families on the tour. Some one on the tour asked what was my favourite
Highlight which she thought the Great wall of china, don’t get me wrong it was amazing, nothing what I expected to be, but I answered THE WHOLE TOUR.
Thanks once again Nexus Holidays for our journey of China. The 3 day stopover to Hong Kong was a great way to wind down but we decided we had 3 full days so we went on our tour the first day then to Disneyland Hong Kong 2nd day and relaxed and shopped the 3rd day. Tours were amazing, food was amazing, wake up calls every morning, hotels stay were fantastic.
We have just returned from the China tour and Yangtze River Cruise. I cannot praise our national guide, Alyssa, highly enough. She made sure everything ran like clockwork and dealt with any requests efficiently and cheerfully. Our local guides – King, Christina, Jessica and Hi Tou (?) – were also lovely and so informative. We saw so much in a short time and made (hopefully) lifelong friends amongst our group. There were too many highlights to list, but obviously the Great Wall was one of them. The Yangtze Cruise was a lovely way to wind down after the busyness of the first 8 days, and the onshore excursions were amazing. I will add that you do need to be relatively fit to embark on this holiday if you want to participate in all that is on offer.
We just came back from 11 days in China and we had a great time. Thank you Nexus for a very well organised tour, great guides – especially Grace who stayed with us the whole time, nothing is too much for this young woman, looked after everybody and everything (thank you Grace) – also King in Beijing (knows everything on the place and has funny ways to tell you about it). The hotels were great, all good! Thank you again!
Eliane and Ken
We have just returned from China had a fantastic time saw some fantastic places was a bit worried about a bus tour as we have never travelled like that before, but the people we travelled with on the 11 day trip just mixed in so well and a very broad aged group. Linda Wang our tour guide she was just delightful and so informative on the areas we travelled to and the different cultures. I can’t believe how well priced it was and that covering entry into so many places was included and so many meals. I would highly recommend this trip with Nexus holidays.
I recently went to China with Nexus, my 88 year old mother had always wanted to see the great wall so the offer was such a good deal we couldn’t say no. We could not believe how lovely everything was, the hotel’s were top quality and the tour guides very helpful, they had so much knowledge and looked after us all so well especially Billy!. I would recommend this trip to anyone thinking of going, but you must be reasonably fit as you go out early in the morning and don’t return until early evening after seeing so much. We didn’t need to pack a lot of the clothes we took as we never needed to change for dinner, we would have it at lovely restaurant’s on the way back to the hotel.
It’s Mary in Melbourne we have just returned from a fantastic 8 day trip to Beijing and China.I still can’t believe what value we got for so little money . It was terrific .The tours hotels food where excellent .The fast train to Shanghai was great but we went also on the fastest train in the world 431kl. 7 min journeys that normally would take 30 mins. My husband and I are recommending this tour to everyone we meat .We travel a lot overseas and this is the best by far. The tour guides we had were excellent.
My sister and I have just returned from a China and Yangtze River cruise, with Nexus. We both had a fantastic time and could not have been happier with the service Nexus provided. They kept us informed the whole time in the lead up to our trip, and the tour guides were outstanding. Not only were they veru knowlegable but they were a lot of fun.
Some of the highlights was obviously the Great Wall, and Terracotta Warriors, but also the live shows we were treated to. The scenery was just beautiful. All the hotels were great as well.
We loved the cultural things too and learning about how the Chinese people lived hundreds of years ago and also today.
Such a beautiful place to visit.
We have returned home from our wonderful great and unbelievable nexus organised tour to South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, we had one of the best and unforgettable travelling with kindly guide and good accommodation and transport in 21 days around those countries. Thanks again for your support.
Guity and Manoochehr
thank you, I am thinking of doing that tour in March this year. It sounds like you really enjoyed the trip, many thanks
Any tips you can give me?
My wife and I are just back from the 11day tour of China. What a fantastic experience it was too with an interesting program taking in many great sights and a ride on the Maglev too. Our Nexus guides were brilliant and nothing was too much for them. The hotels were of an excellent standard and the food was very good and very plentiful. I would recommend Nexus to all my friends and am very grateful for the experience of visiting China in springtime when all the trees are blossoming. I look forward to my next Nexus trip.
Grand Tour China (November 2016)
My sister and I were part of a group that joined the Grand Tour of China, 22 days. The tour really was 20 days as first and last days were travelling. Despite this, it was a fantastic tour and certainly great value for money. We had 17 in our group and we gelled from day one. Our tour guide was fantastic. Grace always kept us informed of what was happening and she fussed about everyone in the group. She had a smile on her face and was very friendly. It was a very physical tour but for most in the group it wasn’t an issue. We covered so much and learnt so much about ancient and present China. The sights were amazing from the Great Wall, Tienanmen Square, terracotta warriors, Yangtze River, three gorges, Chengdu, Wuzhan, Lingering Gardens, Reed Flute caves, fast train, maglev train, Shanghai….. the list is endless. All meals were included. You must like Chinese food as there were no other options but when in China what else do you expect. Breakfast was western so you mostly had a good choice. Some buffet lunches were poor but you never went hungry as there were was always something that was OK. Some buffet food was only lukewarm and not very appetizing. There were some very yummy dinners. Accommodation was excellent. Certainly 4 star hotels. Only one drawback was, in some hotels, the temperature in the rooms was too warm. We had to open our windows to cool down the rooms. Certainly take layers to wear.
Great tour. Value for money. Intriguing history. Welcoming people. Amazing sights. Surprising blue skies. Beautiful scenery.
Thanks Grace for looking after us for 22 days. Your friendly smile and caring touch made us feel relaxed and comfortable.
Thanks Nexus for the tour.
11 Day Golden Tour of Japan, well really 9 days, the first and last day were in OZ. I must admit that I was not overly keen on going to Japan but as the tour progressed I found myself enjoying it, especially the organizing skills of our travel guide Hiroko along with the schedule set by Nexus Holidays travel.
The Japanese people that we had contact with were very hospitable and caring from the elderly to the delightful schoolchildren. Most of the scenery was as expected but we had the advantage of the autumn fall, it added something very pleasant especially to the long bus rides. It was a big WOW to see Mt. Fuji without a cloud in the sky. Hotels were generally a high standard some five plus stars down to 2.5. Meals that we ate at the hotels were the usual standard and quite acceptable.
Sadly one negative was that Japanese food was served at all mealtimes (except breakfast) which yours truly stayed away from, but Hiroko did her very best to accommodate my preferences. She wrote up a sign and placed it at all my table settings saying in Japanese ‘No Shellfish’. That was one of many issues she took care of not only for me but for many others; very efficient lady she gets 10 out of 10.
There were perhaps a couple of shines/temples too many and not enough time for retail therapy, overall very good value.
The prices on the trip are very close to what we would pay here so I would say to anyone don’t be put off if people say how expensive Japan is look at what we have to offer for our dollars.
China trip exceeded all expectations.
I have just returned from the Nexus Holidays Classic China trip (November 2016) and want to comment on what good value this trip was, the high quality of the guides; Eddie in Beijing and Helen in Shanghai, and the professional way that the tour was conducted.
My wife and I had been in China for a holiday 5 years ago and saw this as an affordable way of introducing our adult children to overseas travel. We were also nervous about a tour with a large group – never done this before, and also that it could be a low budget debacle with terrible accommodation, hard sell at the Jade factory, Silk factory, Herbal Institute, Cloisonné factory etc, and insufficient time at The Great Wall, or Forbidden City.
We were pleasantly surprised, both the hotels were very good, and located where we could go for a walk at night. The meals were good, not great, but not poor either, no complaints from our group of 8 adults. Some people complained about eating Chinese food all the time – well duh! – you are on a tour in China – stay at home and eat Kentucky Fried Chicken all day!
Both of our guides were really good, Helen in particular helped us sort out a problem where our Daughter and Son-in-Law were in the other group from us and at a different hotel to the remaining 6 of us. She got them transferred on night 2.
Helen also arranged for the bus to take a group of us to the Shanghai Zoo on our last morning, and then straight on to the airport – brilliant, and well beyond the call of duty. She also organised a trip on the Bullet Train because people were interested, I cannot speak highly enough of Helen as a trip leader.
The days are busy and the days are long – another writer made the valid point that it is a tour not a holiday, and in our group there were some people who missed this point. We had really good time to walk the Great Wall on our own, and we all loved it, there were very few people – it is not a busy ‘commercial’ section -this was the highlight for us – thank you Eddie for giving us ample time. The stop overs that I mentioned before were in fact quite interesting, silk factory etc, not what I had been dreading.
The herbal medicine place is not my thing – but personal preference.
Well done Nexus Holidays.
We have just returned from the short (8 day) holiday in China.
It was a wonderful experience and fantastic value. We had previously visited Shanghai independently and it cost considerably more; so I can appreciate just what good value it was.
Hotels were great and well located, and the food included offered an interesting variety. And the itinerary was perfect for an initial glimpse of this amazing country.
In particular I would like to congratulate you for our guide in Beijing (Eddie) and the overall guide (Helen). Both were excellent in their information and the way they were able to cater for all types of client and any additional requests.
As I said, the holiday was excellent so we are now looking at the 13 day one that includes Xian for next year and bringing the rest of our family along.
We have returned from our fantastic Alaska and Rockies trip.
I would to say thanks to you Jenny and your excellent staff for providing us the opportunity to experience such an amazing adventure. Everything was fantastic starting from our arrival in Seattle and being met by Spencer who was just the most amazing and fantastic tour guide who showed us the wonderful sights of Seattle, he was just so knowledgeable and friendly, the accommodation at the Sheraton – Bellevue in Seattle was great the beds were to die for after a flight of 18 hours +. We also had a fabulous small group of fellow travellers -13 who all got on so well together, and having the smaller tour coach was great, we will remain friends for a long time. The smaller coach just added to the trip.
The cruise with Royal Caribbean, Explorer of the Seas was amazing we had the best cabin on the boat right at the very front, fabulous experience, the Sawyer Glacier was incredible, as were the shore excursions we took, can’t wait till the next cruise !!!
After the cruise Ursula and our driver Nick met us at the dock and started another amazing adventure – the fabulous Rockies. Ursula was another fantastic guide who provided us with so much information and looked after us in every aspect. She is truly an asset as is Spencer, and Nick was a very good and safe driver.
The Rockies were amazing, the scenery spectacular, the whole trip fabulous, the accommodation was great and the food choices on the package were excellent, the additional tours we undertook were all worthwhile and enjoyed to the max, some of the scenery was just the wow factor, we also experienced being snowed upon, which living in our desert climate was a great experience, for us.
All in all it was an adventure we won’t forget in a long time and thank you for helping us with every aspect of the trip and nothing was ever too much trouble for you and your staff, thank you thank you, and also thanks for provided such excellent tour guides, cant thank you and your team enough.
Regards and thanks
Gaynor and Wayne Holliday
My husband and I (in our late 50’s) returned from a 22 day Grand Tour of China early September 2016.
I was hesitant about Nexus tours after reading some very bad comments and reviews. However, we cannot recommend Nexus Sydney highly enough. The staff were always helpful and accommodating from the time we booked until we left Brisbane. They handled all aspects of our trip diligently in regard to tour information and visa applications. Emails were always responded to quickly, efficiently and informatively.
Our tour guide, Jackie Cheung was outstanding! He was always well organised, checking that each and every one of us was happy and accounted for and if there was ever an issue, he rectified it as soon as he could. Jackie was always on hand to help all our group pass through airport security and check-ins. He helped at meal times to identify certain foods and arrange drinks. He spoke very good English and had a keen sense of humour. His knowledge of places of interest was extensive. Jackie often gave informative commentaries while travelling in the bus, all without being intrusive. Our tour of China was certainly enhanced by having Jackie as our guide. He even sang us a farewell song which was a lovely personal touch.
The tour organisation itself was excellent. It would obviously not be easy coordinating flights, accommodation, daily excursions, buses, trains, meals and entertainment but Nexus and Jackie proved this could happen as there was not one glitch. We also noticed that Jackie spent quite some time at the end of a very long day, well into late night with paper work and organisation for the following day/s.
All other local tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable within their respective locations. They made our trips enjoyable and enlightening.
The bus drivers were excellent. Their driving skills were to be commended, particularly when negotiating narrow, congested streets, reversing into heavy traffic and parking in confined areas.
Hotel accommodation was very good to excellent. We noticed that Chinese 5 star does not always equate to Australian 5 star. Beds were all king size and very firm.
Most hotel breakfasts were excellent with some being better than others with a reasonable selection of western style food. Chinese style lunches and dinners were more than adequate, again with some being better than others but that depended on taste preferences.
Days were ‘full on’ with some very early morning starts to catch flights but we agreed they were necessary in order to make the most of all sightseeing activities. Remember this is a
tour, not a holiday. We were taken to several factories where many purchases were made but at no stage did we feel compelled to buy anything.
It was disappointing that The Great Wall (Juyong Pass) was extremely steep with many of the people in the group unable to ascend the wall.
The Yangtze River Cruise boat was ok. Rooms were clean and small but adequate. It was suggested that we may upgrade our meal and drink package which we chose not to do. However, if we had, the upgraded dining area (although with very similar food) would have been less noisy. Smoking is allowed on all balconies which for us as non-smokers, found the floating cigarette ash from above balconies a bit annoying.
All optional shows throughout the tour were excellent and well worth the money and effort.
All in all this 22 day Grand Tour of China was fantastic! We were very lucky to have Jackie Cheung as our tour guide, we were with a great group of people and it was extremely good value for money.
We would not hesitate to join another Nexus tour and would encourage others to be open minded to criticism and negative reviews.
I am writing to commend you on an excellent tour. My husband and I, in our sixties, have just returned from a 22 day Grand Tour of China and at all stages we found the trip to be well organized and enjoyable. Your selection of hotels and restaurants was always of a very high standard. The itinerary was also busy and varied, and at all times we felt safe and comfortable. Our tour guide Jackie Cheung was exceptional. He kept us informed and entertained and we all developed a friendly relationship with him that made our experience all the more enjoyable. Many times Jackie exceeded his role to give each of the people in his care the best possible experience, and he was always pleasant, in control and very well organized. Also, the selection of local guides was much appreciated. Their knowledge and bright manner helped make our tour even more interesting and entertaining. There were many many highlights but I would like to make what I hope are constructive suggestions for future planning. Our group felt that the mould on the Yangtze 2 was responsible for the sore throats and bronchitis that many of us contracted on the cruise. Also, the Great Wall site that we visited was not the most suitable for our group. The Juyong Pass was just too steep for most of us to enjoy our goal of walking on the wall. It would also be appreciated, especially in summer, if the itinerary could allow people to shower before dinner, and if more bottled water could be supplied. A number of times the hotel check-in was not until 8pm. We were shown every consideration, and understood the reasons for this, but this aspect could have been improved. However, overall, we have nothing but praise for such a wonderful trip. The planning and organization was amazing and we will definitely recommend Nexus to future travellers.
We have recently returned from an 11 day China DiscoveryTour.
Thank you Nexus for providing not only a professional, well organised tour with great guides and excursions, but excellent value for money.
It was a very full- on tour, which we enjoy, as we wanted to experience as much as possible in the short time that we were there.
We would recommend this tour as a way to sample the culture and highlights of China and at the same time have a professional team organise the day to day activities in a professional, safe and secure manner.
Thank you again Nexus, it was great and we look forward to travelling with you again in the future.
To Nexus holiday team , We have just returned last week 29/06/16 after 11 days Japan Golden Tour holiday . Departed from Melbourne 19th June.
I would like to let you know that we had a wonderful time and thank you for the excellent organisation of this tour. I must admit I was a little nervous about it, however, I need not have been concerned as it was so well put together.
There was nothing to complain about as we were picked up from Kansai airport with Sam and taken to our hotel which was very comfortable. The next 8 days on the bus we had an incredible tour guides who knew so much about Japan History, she was so knowledgeable and really looked after everyone. Then took us off to Mt Fuji on the bullet train which was an experience in itself.
The Hotels we stayed in were very good, the Hyatt Regency Osaka and the Keio Plaza Hotel were stand outs . The breakfast were really good. Keio Plaza was in a great area, so close to everything we needed.
Our tour guide, Samatha was fantastic lady , we certainly had “the best”, everyone on the tour related to her and admired her knowledgable about Japan history , I feel we were very lucky as we seemed to have a really good, easy going group on this tour. Please pass onto whoever needs to know in Japan how fantastic Sam is, ,lovely lady, she truly did make the trip.
Thank you Nexus, and I would certainly do a tour with you again.
Thank you very much for your feedback, we are delighted that you enjoyed your tour and will definitely pass on your compliments about your guide Samantha. We are confident that our popular Japan Tour is the best value product on the market. Others do not stay at lovely upmarket hotels such as the Hyatt Regency and Keio Plaza!
We would be delighted to help you with your next booking.
Just a short note to let you know that we had a wonderful holiday, and what great value for money it was. We left on the 30th May, and returned on the 16th June.
We had Gavin as our guide, and he was wonderful. Also Leo in Xian was great.
A lot of walking and climbing, but we came back fitter for it.
Anyway, once again we would have no hesitation in recommending Nexus in the future.
Thanks for a very smooth tour from beginning to end.
Our group of four have just returned from the sampler China tour with a short stop over in Hong kong and I would like to give a big thank you to Nexus for a wonderful well organized trip from start to finish. The tour guides Amy, Ging and George in China and Norman in Hong Kong where very informative and professional at all times and showed us a wonderful country. I would highly recommend Nexus and use them again.
I have recently returned from the 8 Day Classic China Tour with Nexus Holidays and I would like to offer some feedback.
First of all the correspondence with Nexus Holidays here in Australia by email and phone contact was excellent. I always received a response to my questions in a very prompt timely timeframe. Great service.
The accommodation in Beijing was very nice, great rooms but a long way out from the city and one day we spent two hours in the bus from 0800 to 1000 to do the first visit for the day which was the Chinese Herbal Institute. Everyone felt the time spent on the bus could have been spent elsewhere so therefore the location of the property was too far out from the city, but nonetheless very nice property.
The Wyndam Bund East was brilliant. Fantastic location, beautiful rooms, just perfect. We loved this property.
Whilst in Beijing, we had a tour guide called Eddie. Well this man was knowledgable, professional, brilliant in his role and an overall very nice man. I can’t speak highly enough of Eddie and I would like Nexus to acknowledge Eddie as a brilliant Tour Guide and he should be recognised for his extreme hard work and support of the Nexus Holidays clients. Eddie took good care of all the clients and his knowledge of Beijing is similar to an encyclopedia!
Our guide in Shanghai was Helen. Helen was fantastic. She manipulated the itinerary to suit the time and interest of the tour group and added way more than we were expecting, all on her own accord, simply to make our holiday more impressive. Helen is an exceptional guide and I would like Nexus to also acknowledge Helen for her hard work too.
These guides must be looked after as it would be such a shame for them to move on to another company as they are so good at their jobs. Please pass on my comments to management.
Finally, I would say this holiday was exceptional value for money. I would recommend Nexus Holidays to all my friends and would definitely travel again with Nexus.
Thank you for a very memorable holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can’t fault a single thing.
Have just returned from China. We visited Beijing and Shanghai. Just a week but I think we fitted in a month’s sight seeing. Our guides were fantastic – so knowledgeable. I just wish I could remember all they told us.
Excellent customer service. Have not yet left for the trip. Everything I have requested from the customer service has been prompt and professional. Looking forward to the trip.
We have not yet done our trip but have received the best customer service from Jenny in reservations. My enquiry was handled effeciantly, return calls were quick when Jenny found out all the correct answers and emails were quick to reflect the correct invoice. Jenny was so lovely and notified me that I had overpaid $1000.00 which she was having refunded to me. Good job Jenny; you are awesome and we very much appreciate you. Karen
To Nexus holiday team , We have just returned last week on the 8 day China holiday . We would like to congratulate Nexus on amazing few days to China. There was nothing to complain about as we were picked up from Beijing airport with Joanna and taken to our hotel which was very comfortable. The next three days on the bus we had two incredible tour guides who knew so much about their country, they were so knowledgeable and really looked after everyone. George then took us off to Shanghai on the bullet train which was an experience in itself.
Shanghai was truly another great city with so much to see.
One comment I would like to make is making the Hutong Life tour as NOT optional tour as it was incredibly interesting to be ridden around the street on a pedicab and seeing the old part of the town and how the locals live. And the others just walked up around the markets.
If you didn’t want to buy anything you didn’t have any extra expense on the trip.
Once again an excellent short trip to China, and our tour guide George did amazing job with the passengers. Also the bus drivers were very good getting around the large cities truly amazing!
I agree, the hutong life tour was fantastic.
We have just returned from a Tour of China through Nexus holidays, visiting, Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai and Cruised the Yangtze river on the President 7 from Yichang to Chongjing. I can thoroughly recommend travelling with Nexus. Our national Guide, Amy, was so efficient and the local guides saw to every detail. The courteous and prompt responses when booking the holiday added up to making the whole tour very enjoyable. Quality hotels and food were all included.
Thank you for a fantastic holiday. Everything went like clockwork except for the initial transfer from international to domestic on arrival in China. The delay meant we did not arrive at our hotel in Beijing until 0430Hr’s. We had to be up at 0730Hrs’s to begin our journey. However, we gradually caught up with lost sleep along the way.
Our tour guide “ Maggi” was fabulous, she was outgoing, friendly, had a good command of the English language and an exceptional knowledge of China’s history. Maggi made our holiday a memorable one. One I hope you will pass on to Maggi.
All of our flights coming into Beijing from Hong Kong were delayed, internal Beijing to Shanghai and Shanghai back to Hong Kong delayed also, no fault of Nexus however. But probably worth mentioning as it certainly isn’t a one off and travellers should be prepared for this.
WE had landed safely this morning in Sydney successfully completing the Japan Land of the Rising Sun tour.
I take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent arrangements. The hotels wee very good and the tour guide Jennifer was very helpful and took great pains to see vegetarian items were included in dinner and lunch, wherever provided.
So much so we are thinking of taking a tour of China, which Iam told is your speciality.
I have a suggestion to make, if you don’t mind.
You can provide tags for luggages and badges for individuals along with the itinerary, the use of which can be optional for individual. to use.
Once again thanking you.
We have recently arrived home from our Japan trip, departed Sydney 24th April.
I would like to let you know that we had a wonderful time and thank you for the excellent organisation of this tour. As we had never purchased a tour in this manner before, always through our travel agent, I must admit I was a little nervous about it, however, I need not have been concerned as it was so well put together, you must have done this all before and I will know “the drill” for next time.
The Hotels we stayed in were very good, but the Hyatt Regency Osaka and the Keio Plaza Hotel were stand outs. The staff at Hyatt Regency Osaka were “the best” and I will make a particular commendation of Jeni Lee and W’Lee, these two girls were brilliant, so helpful, nothing was a trouble to them and they seemed so very happy to assist. The breakfast staff were also very accommodating and cheerful. Keio Plaza was in a great area, so close to everything we needed.
Last but not least, our tour guide, Cindy Chong, I truly could not put into words how fabulous this lady was, we certainly had “the best”, she is superb, everyone on the tour related to her and admired her, I feel we were very lucky as we seemed to have a really good, easy going group on this tour. Please pass onto whoever needs to know in Japan how fantastic Cindy is, full accolades to this happy, knowledgable, lovely lady, she truly did make the trip.
We have just returned from the Far East Asia tour of South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. We would like to say thank you for the wonderful trip. The guides, Sophie, Samantha and Justin were very friendly, helpful and informative. The itinerary was well organised and interesting and the included meals gave us an insight into the local cuisine. Wonderful. Highly recommended.
George and I have been home from our “Beijing & Shanghai Tour and Japan Cruise” for a few weeks now and we would like to tell you that we had a wonderful time. We had a great tour guide called Helen who couldn’t do enough for us, from organizing extra activities, arranging birthday cakes to helping with medical problems. Our extra local guides were very informative. We enjoyed all our meals, never came away hungry and the hotels were very 5 star though the air con/heaters weren’t working properly in 2 of the hotels.
I thought I would pass on my comments about the recent “Amazing China 22 day Tour” which we completed. Firstly let me say our escort for the entire tour Jackie, was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, including retrieving a jacket I had left in the hotel at Hangzhou and posting it to my home in Melbourne. Jackie was most kind and very considerate, and took it upon himself to be of assistance to my friend at every opportunity – particularly where there were many steps or crossing the road in heavy traffic. Nexus Holidays is to be congratulated for employing people of his calibre and his thoughtfulness was remarkable.
The effort of the guides employed, their individual character traits and the extensive knowledge shared, made my tour with Nexus Holidays a most memorable and remarkable experience, eclipsed only by the magnificence of the country visited. I have already highly recommended the tour I was on to a friend, who will also be travelling on a future China tour with Nexus Holidays. I have provided reassurance that it will be a very well managed tour that is highly organised, providing a thoroughly enjoyable trip to be remembered always.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you everyone at Nexus Holidays for organising a magnificent China Sampler tour. The tour exceeded my expectations in every way. It was operated by very efficient local and national guides, who were both experienced and helpful. The level of accommodation was exceptional in most instances and the food was great. The optional tours were highly enjoyable and I would give this trip a full 5 star rating. I will have no hesitation in recommending it to everyone contemplating travelling to China. Thank you for this most memorable experience.
I returned from my 11-day trip to China and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it. It was a very interesting tour; we learned a lot of history, culture and interesting facts about modern China. The tour organisation was wonderful, service and hotels were excellent. All three tour guides in our group (Ling Ling, national guide, Jeff (or Ming) in Beijing and May in Xian) were excellent, very knowledgeable, with a great sense of humour and very personable. Overall it was an unforgettable experience.
My wife and I travelled on a Nexus Holidays organised tour that left Sydney on May 4th and we can’t speak more highly of the tour it was the most organised and professional tour we have ever been on. Compliments to our tour guide Gavin and Oliver in Beijing who greeted us and to all the tour guides we encountered. It was a very enjoyable tour and we had very rich cultural information about China. Well done to Nexus; starting from the Sydney staff all the way to the China organisation… Thank you and I hope we can travel again in the near future to China.
I just wanted to pass on my thanks for the China tour as we totally enjoyed the nine days. The tour guides were all very informative; King and George were organised, caring and helpful. The hotels are superior and we saw a different side of China. I didn’t realise how pretty it was. Well done, thanks!
