After breakfast, we travel by road from Ho Chi Minh City to the peaceful countryside in Ben Tre. Embark on a local boat ride on Ben Tre River – one of tributaries of the Mekong River. Stop at a local brickworks to see how to make bricks by hand. Visit the perfume coconut garden and coconut processing workshops located along river canals, and enjoy fresh fruit and coconut juice. Continue the trip by boat through countless criss-crossing canals. Walk on peaceful paths to a farmer’s house to see people weave mats. Take a motor cart (xe loi) or bicycle on a shady road, passing by rice and vegetable fields, to discover tropical culture and real local living conditions. Enjoy lunch at a farmer’s house on the riverside. In the afternoon, board a rowing boat and travel along ‘water coconut palm canal’, and then proceed to Ben Tre before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
This morning, you travel to visit Cu Chi Tunnels – located in an area known as the ‘Iron Triangle’ during the ‘American War’. The story of Cu Chi is one of struggle, determination against all odds, and eventual victory. You will have an opportunity to go underground to see the intricate system of tunnels, learn the tactics of the revolutionary forces, and understand what life was like for Vietnamese soldiers during wartime. Then visit Ho Chi Minh City’s Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, and Ben Thanh Market before transferring to the airport to catch your flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel.

Day 4: Hanoi Ha Long Bay Halong Bay Cruise (B, L, D)

Travel by coach to Ha Long Bay and take a boat trip to explore one of the world’s great natural wonders, cruising the thousands of limestone islands filled with caves of all shapes and sizes. The sails of junks and sampans gliding along the clear and emerald waters of the bay form a magnificent picturesque scene that blends with the sky. You also get a chance to visit some of the hidden grottoes beneath the towering cliffs. A seafood lunch and dinner will be served on board the charming junk. Stay overnight on board.
Enjoy the aquamarine waters of the Ha Long Bay at its best, as the boat continues to cruise quietly through spectacular limestone formations. Disembark from the junk at noon and return to Hanoi. Check in and enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure.
Enjoy a city tour of Hanoi’s most famous sites: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (outside view), One Pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university. Later, enjoy a cyclo ride around the Old Quarter to discover the lifestyle of the locals. Enjoy a water puppet show, a traditional form of Vietnamese folk art.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home via a connecting city. The trip may be over but the experiences and memories will certainly last a lifetime.

You will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Beijing (may be via a connecting city). Your tour guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for rest.
Beijing has served as the capital of five dynasties over a period of 800 years. Today, visit Tiananmen Square, the second largest public square in the world, and the Forbidden City, the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming to Qing dynasty. Continue on to the Temple of Heaven, one of the best examples of Ming Dynasty architecture and an ornate sanctuary where Chinese emperors offered sacrifices to heaven and prayed for a good harvest. Your welcome banquet includes the local delicacy, Peking roast duck.
Today’s highlight is an excursion to the majestic Great Wall at Juyong Pass, the most famous image of China, and a chance to climb a portion of this 3,700-mile marvel. Visit one of the largest jade exhibitions in Asia en-route. After lunch, see skilled artisans at work at a cloisonné factory, and visit the Changling Exhibition Hall of the Ming Tombs, where thirteen of the sixteen Ming dynasty emperors are buried. Tonight, you can choose to attend an optional large scale dramatic musical, “The Golden Mask Dynasty” (at your own expense).
Tour the exquisite Summer Palace, the largest preserved ancient imperial garden in China. Then, visit a Chinese herbal institute to learn about traditional Chinese medicine, which has existed for thousands of years. Later, join our highly-recommended Hutong Life Tour (at your own expense), a special journey which explores Beijing’s ancient alleyways or ‘hutongs” by pedicab followed by a stroll in Wangfujing, one of the Chinese capital’s most famous shopping streets. After dinner, cap off the day by attending a superb and thrilling Chinese Kung-Fu Show (at your own expense).
Experience the high-speed train to Shanghai – the modern metropolis and commercial centre of China. This morning we visit a silk spinning mill and learn how silk is created from mulberry-munching silkworms to produce the finest thread and cloth. Then we walk along the famous Bund, a mile-long stretch along the Huangpu River. Lined by the colonial architecture of European design, this area is the best place to recapture the western influences of the old days. Continue to the Old Town which is a perfect combination of gardens, temples, old architecture, local culture, souvenir shops, and food. In the evening, you may join an optional Huangpu River night cruise (at your own expense).
This morning visit Shanghai Museum to see ancient Chinese art, furniture, and jade. Then we explore the Xintiandi Area, an affluent and fashionable pedestrian street composed of unique shikumen (stone gate) and modern architectural styles. Our farewell dinner this evening will be a banquet of delicious Shanghai cuisine. You can cap of the celebrations by attending a thrilling optional Chinese acrobatic show – ERA: The Intersection of Time (at your own expense).

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Shanghai Airport this afternoon for your flight home via a connecting city.
