Namaste! Arrive in Delhi, the capital of India, where you will be met by a tour representative on arrival and transferred to your hotel.

Please note: Depending on the city of departure chosen, some flights may depart the night before on Day 0. Flights to Delhi will be via connecting cities and may involve more than one transit.

Enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of the major monuments of Delhi. See the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, and Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. Join an optional bicycle rickshaw ride in the alleyways of Chandni Chowk. Later this afternoon, visit Humayun’s Tomb, an inspiration for the Taj Mahal. Final stop is Qutub Minar, Delhi’s tallest brick minaret.

Drive to Jaipur this morning. See the City Palace followed by the Jantar Mantar Observatory, an impressive collection of enormous astronomical instruments that were once used to measure time, chart constellations, and observe the planets and stars.

Ascend to the Amber Fort (a.k.a Amer Fort), by jeep/elephant. This dramatic building is around 450 years old and overlooks Maota Lake. Inside the main palace, the Ganesh Gate is a particularly beautiful feature, consisting of three levels from which the palace ladies would observe functions hidden by lattice windows. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Travel to Agra and take in the stunning Taj Mahal. Then, stop by Agra Fort, which served as a military base and royal residence during the great Mughal reign over India.

Board an express train to Jhansi. On arrival, hop on a motorised rickshaw (‘tuk tuk’) and journey past traditional villages en route to the scenic town of Orchha. Explore the Orchha Palace complex.

Proceed to Khajuraho, a town well-known for its UNESCO World Heritage medieval 10th and 11th century archaeological Hindu and Jain temples. Explore the Western group of temples and admire the skilled workmanship seen in the exquisite stone carvings and sculptural wall embellishments. The main attraction is the elegant Kandariya Mahadeva temple as well as the erotic carvings, which are a feast for the eyes.
Fly to Varanasi, the spiritual hub of India and one of the oldest cities in the world with a history dating back to 11th century BC. Head to the ghats (stone steps) along the Ganges River and witness the sacred rituals that take place every evening. This special evening is Holika Dahan, the eve of Holi, where an effigy of the devil named Holika is lit up and destroyed on a pyre to symbolise the triumph of good over evil.
Celebrate Holi with the locals today until noon and get bathed in a kaleidoscopic sea of colours. The Holi festival in Varanasi is not to be missed as the alleyways and the ghats leading to the Ganges River are covered in every colour imaginable.

Sail along the sacred Ganges River on a boat ride and observe activities happening along the ghats. Return to the hotel for breakfast and then proceed to the airport to board your flight to Delhi. Enjoy a farewell dinner tonight.
