I have recently returned from the 8 Day Classic China Tour with Nexus Holidays and I would like to offer some feedback. First of all the correspondence with Nexus Holidays here in Australia by email and phone contact was excellent. I always received a response to my questions in a very prompt timely timeframe. Great service.

The Wyndam Bund East was brilliant. Fantastic location, beautiful rooms, just perfect. We loved this property.

Whilst in Beijing, we had a tour guide called Eddie. Well this man was knowledgeable, professional, brilliant in his role and an overall very nice man. I can’t speak highly enough of Eddie and I would like Nexus to acknowledge Eddie as a brilliant Tour Guide and he should be recognised for his extreme hard work and support of the Nexus Holidays clients. Eddie took good care of all the clients and his knowledge of Beijing is similar to an encyclopedia!

Our guide in Shanghai was Helen. Helen was fantastic. She manipulated the itinerary to suit the time and interest of the tour group and added way more than we were expecting, all on her own accord, simply to make our holiday more impressive. Helen is an exceptional guide and I would like Nexus to also acknowledge Helen for her hard work too.

Finally, I would say this holiday was exceptional value for money. I would recommend Nexus Holidays to all my friends and would definitely travel again with Nexus. Thank you for a very memorable holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can’t fault a single thing.

Fly to Beijing via a connecting city. Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted at the airport by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. Please note: Some flights may depart the night before.
Beijing has served as the capital of five dynasties over a period of 800 years. Today, visit Tiananmen Square, the second largest public square in the world, and the Forbidden City, the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming to the Qing dynasty. Continue on to the Temple of Heaven, one of the best examples of Ming Dynasty architecture and also an ornate sanctuary where Chinese emperors offered sacrifices to heaven and prayed for a good harvest. Your welcome banquet includes the local delicacy, Peking Roast Duck.
Today’s highlight is an excursion to the majestic Great Wall at Juyong Pass, the most famous image of China, and a chance to climb a portion of this 3,700-mile marvel. Visit one of the largest jade exhibitions in Asia en-route. After lunch, see skilled artisans at work at a cloisonné factory, and visit the Changling Exhibition Hall of the Ming Tombs, where thirteen of the sixteen Ming dynasty emperors are buried. Tonight, you can choose to attend an optional large scale dramatic musical, The Golden Mask Dynasty (at your own expense).
Tour the exquisite Summer Palace, the largest preserved ancient imperial garden in China. Then, visit a Chinese herbal medicine institute to learn about traditional Chinese medicine, which has existed for thousands of years. Later, join a ‘Hutong Life Tour‘ (at your own expense), a special journey which explores Beijing’s ancient alleyways or hutongs by pedicab followed by a stroll in Wangfujing, one of the Chinese capital’s most famous shopping streets. After dinner, cap off the day by attending a superb and thrilling Chinese Kung-Fu Show (at your own expense).

Experience the high-speed train to Shanghai – the modern metropolis and commercial centre of China. This morning we visit a silk spinning mill and learn how silk is created from mulberry-munching silkworms to produce the finest thread and cloth. Then we walk along the famous Bund, a mile-long stretch along the Huangpu River. Lined by colonial architecture of European design, this area is the best place to capture the western influences of old Shanghai. Continue to the Old Town which is a perfect combination of gardens, temples, old architecture, local culture, souvenir businesses, and food. In the evening, you may join an optional Huangpu River Night Cruise (at your own expense).

NOTE: For travellers who choose to join the optional mid-tour extension package to see Xi’an and the Terracotta Warriors, you will instead fly to Xi’an, spending two nights, and then on to Shanghai.

Enjoy a day at leisure in Shanghai. You may wish to view the city from Jin Mao tower’s 88th floor observation deck, ride the super-fast Maglev train, stroll the Bund on the Huangpu River and take in the colonial-era architecture, or wander Nanjing Lu and sample some of Shanghai’s culinary and shopping diversions. The Shanghai Museum (pictured) also houses an excellent collection of Chinese crafts and fine art.
This morning is at leisure, before you transfer to Shanghai’s Baoshan International Cruise Terminal. Boarding time is 4:45pm

Located along the coast of the Seto Inland Sea, Japan’s largest island has plenty to offer tourists, from picturesque old towns, to wide boulevards and bustling nightlife.
