Royal Palace
Today you’ll be dazzled by the architecture and intricate details of Bangkok’s Grand Palace. Built in 1782, the Grand Palace was the used by the Royal family until 1925. The highlight of this destination is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which houses Thailand’s most sacred icon. Next we visit Wat Po, with its 46 meter-long, gold-covered Reclining Buddha. This temple is also home to Thailand’s leading school of traditional massage. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll board a water taxi to Wat Arun – The Temple of Dawn, covered in a mosaic of mirrors, glass, and ceramic tiles. After this, you’ll navigate the waterways and canals of the ‘Venice of the East’, taking in the waterfront lives of local residents from aboard your longtail speedboat.
Reclining Buddha
Spend your day at leisure until evening. Tonight may be the highlight of the trip for food enthusiasts – a trip to Bangkok’s Chinatown – Yaowarat, to spend several hours in this world-renowned street food destination. The variety of dishes is incredible, and we’ll guide you through the many and varied tastes and traditions of this culinary heaven. With succulent roast pork, to spicy curries, fresh salads, and tropical desserts to choose from – nobody will leave here hungry!
Bangkok Chinatown
Today you will visit the famous Floating Market, Damnoen Saduak. This is a lovely way to get out of the bustling city, and get a taste for a way of life that has now largely passed. See and sample some fresh fruit and various light dishes served from the many ‘floating stalls’, and be sure to take your share of photographs! Following this excursion, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward international flights.
